A few years back, my friend, journalist-musician-writer-TV producer-cat lady Paula Yoo, started an event called National Picture Book Writing Week in response to NaNoWrMo (write a novel in one month — November). The idea is that sometimes, focusing on writing volume rather than quality can help you build momentum. Participants write a new picture book every day for a week. It’s challenging but fun, and it’s happening now! To motivate participants, each day of this week Paula interviews one or two published picture book authors and/or illustrators. She was nice enough to include me in this fine flock. You can read her interview with me here. And now, I’m off to read the other interviews!
